The real cost of a Luxembourg employee

Two numbers decide what a Luxembourg hire costs you. One is the employer contribution to the CCSS, which depends on a classification most employers have never heard of. The other is our fee, which does not move. This page sets out both, with the arithmetic shown rather than summarised.

PRICING QUESTIONS

Cost questions we get asked

What determines our fee?+
Pricing opens at €499 per employee monthly. Where a given role lands above that depends on its complexity and on how much of the employment you want carried for you. Salary plays no part in it. The figure is written into the quote and does not move afterwards.
Is the fee a percentage of pay?+
It is not. A well-paid employee generates no more administration than a modestly paid one, so charging more for them would be arbitrary. Whether your person earns €45,000 or €110,000, the same fee applies. Their CCSS contribution differs, but that is legislation rather than pricing.
How much do employer contributions add?+
Between 12.57% and 15.00% of gross pay in 2026, with the Mutualité des employeurs class deciding where in that band you sit. Contributions are charged on pay up to €13,856.63 a month and nothing above. Because these are statutory amounts, no provider can discount them. We remit them to the CCSS and reproduce the same figure on your invoice.
Which costs fall outside?+
Gross salary, employer CCSS contributions, and whatever benefits, supplementary pension or approved expenses you have asked us to arrange. All three appear separately at the amount we pay out. Drafting, payroll, filings, leave records and HR advice are already covered.
Must we be invoiced in euro?+
No. The employee is necessarily paid in euro, since payroll and the CCSS declaration both operate in it. Your invoice is a separate instrument and can be denominated in sterling, dollars or most other currencies, whichever causes your accounts payable team least trouble.
Are we locked in for a minimum period?+
You are not. Charging for an employee ceases when their employment does. The timing is governed by statute rather than by our contract: notice commences on either the 1st or the 15th of a month depending when it is served, and runs for a period set by the employee’s seniority and by which party is terminating. Offboarding, the closing payslip and CCSS deregistration are ours to complete.
